We gave Greater Meredith Program a hand installing a sculpture for the Meredith Sculpture Walk this morning. Yes, this was our first time ever lifting a metal giraffe. It's great to be part of a community where so many donate their time to make this beautiful town even more beautiful. Hats off to Bev Lapham and his dedicated group of volunteers for all they do.

We had a great time with 2nd grade at Inter-Lakes Elementary this morning for career day. I apologize to everyone who was scheduled to present after us. Let's be honest, nothing is cooler than a big crane picking up whole trees and a chipper making quick work of them! Big thanks to Bayside Vintage for getting our logo on the hard hats for the kids with very short notice. They saved the day once again. Benjamin Wakefield Trevor Wakefield

It was a corn hole Christmas at Donovan Tree. Huge thanks to Ned Holes and Bayside Vintage for a spectacular job with these. Couldn't have asked for a better gift for an awesome bunch of guys. One more week and 2017 is over for DTE.

We lent a hand to Squam Lakes Natural Science Center last week with their pole barn construction. A first for us!

It's unfortunate to see houses and properties that people have worked so hard to build and maintain receive incredible damage at the hands of Mother Nature. It's also great to see people come together to help their neighbors and make sure that everyone is safe and has a place to go. It is truly a humbling experience that hits me every time we have an event like this in the Lakes Region. This is a great community we live in.

It's a winter wonderland out there! Here's an interesting read on unsafe snow loads while you are warming up by the fire. We have been clearing roofs for a week or so and have definitely seen snow loads well above the "Danger Zones" outlined in this article. With a 137' crane, 65' load bearing lift, and insurance (general liability and worker's comp) specific to these operations we are able to remove snow faster and safer than most companies while keeping the liability off our customer. Contact us today to get on the list.

We are frequently asked what we do in the winter months. "You guys must plow". The answer is not much changes for us. We do not plow (although it's been tempting some years) We stay busy doing what are good at and what we enjoy doing. We use the winter to complete jobs that we aren't able to perform in the warmer months because of property constraints. Frozen lawns with some snow cover offer added protection from our equipment. We frequently use the frozen lakes to drop trees on. A lot of our clients get limited time at their second homes and certainly don't want to hear our noisy equipment while they are trying to enjoy the relaxation NH offers. For the next couple of weeks we will be improving views for a local colony club on a hillside. We chose this time of year because the snow cover allows us the option to burn the brush instead of hauling it up a steep embankment which is a huge savings to the client. In the end, winter is a great time for tree work and we are happy to have such a great clientele that keeps us busy. Call us to discuss that project you have been thinking about and didn't get to this summer. You might just find that winter tree work is the way to go. .
